7 AI prompts for my PM and creator work
7 custom GPTs that boost my productivity
The best AI resources that I’ve found online
This is not a “99 AI tools you must try” listicle. I’ve only included AI tools, prompts, and workflows that I actually use weekly. Let’s dive in.
Five steps to craft a great AI prompt
Here’s a refresher on how to craft great AI prompts:
Assign a goal. e.g., “I want you to edit this newsletter post.”
Share examples. e.g., “First, study these examples and recap my writing style.”
Proceed step by step. e.g., “Next, ask me for my draft to edit.”
Ask for variations. e.g., “Edit in my style and create three variations.”
Add constraints. e.g., “Keep each variation to 1 page.”
Try to include all of these points in your prompts to make AI alot more useful.
Eight AI tools that I can’t live without
Here's something that might surprise you:
I’ve canceled my ChatGPT Plus subscription.
Instead, I now pay $20 / month for Claude (Sonnet 3.5) as my main AI tool. In my experience, Claude blows GPT-4o out of the water for editing text, giving thoughtful answers, and extracting insights from content.
Here are 4 other AI tools that I use regularly:
ChatGPT (free): I still use the free ChatGPT app to get answers to everyday questions (e.g., “How do I get rid of lawn weeds?”)
Google Gemini: I use this to summarize long YouTube video podcasts with the prompt “Summarize using nested bullets and quotes: (YouTube link).”
Perplexity: I often use Perplexity for research or informational queries instead of Google Search.
Superwhisper: I use this app to ramble to my phone while going on a walk to write the first draft of an essay. It uses an offline LLM to synthesize my content.
Finally, here are 3 AI tools that I like to play with for fun:
Suno makes incredible songs from text prompts, like my female pop ballad on lactose intolerance.
LumaLabs and Runway create mind-blowing video clips from text. AI video has come a long way in just a few months.
Websim builds amazing websites from a few lines of text. I learned about this startup from Dylan (Figma’s CEO).
