Relevant article Peter. Take #3 (Retention is the real signal, not ARR) stood out to me the most from a growth engineering perspective. Retention is so much harder to drive and it forces the team to consider multiple axis on why customers churn. It's one thing to boost the top of funnel but another ball game to keep those customers using the product and deriving value.
I would also like to add that being product minded and customer centric goes a long way. Since we use at least 5-10 apps on a day to day, surely there's something we notice could be better about the product we use. Product minded thinking helps us formalize our observations in a way we can deliver impact
Relevant read. Nowadays, Definitely many engineers are in some way a victim of the meme.
