ChatGPT feels like the best 20/month overall daily quality of life improvement I've spent in a long time for all of the reasons listed here. It's so powerful at answering questions and helping me make quick decisions. (is this car repair place ripping me off? How close is the nearest dog park? What was that song lyric that sounds like.... )
As a software developer, most of my professional time is spent writing or coding, which means I lean on Claude heavily.
After seeing this post, I'll have to spend some more time playing with Gemini. Seems like they have a good handle with visual content!
This table will easily be one of the most important tables of this year! Thank you so much for everything you do. You and Ethan Mollick are my 2 key lighthouses while navigating this vast sea of LLMs. Thanks to your vote of confidence, i have started doing a lot of my writing work on Claude intentionally, and it has been transformative.
I know your niche is different, but i would be curious to read your hypothesis on why you think Claude is so good for writing. (Is it the human annotators or the algorithms? - Why does Claude make me so contemplative?
I just wrote about Claude's potential secret sauce!
I pay for ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini at the moment mainly because I need to keep up with them for creating training course material for AI upskillers! ... Claude is also my favourite, though I would be gutted to not also have access to CustomGPTs as they are pretty cool! Thank you for sharing, it's inspired me to do my own version for learning materials and presentations!
Thanks - I agree with the general sentiment that ChatGPT is a great "Swiss army knife" for nearly any AI use case. Initially I found that Claude was better for writing, and even coding - but saw leaps in the latest GPT release (4.5), and later big improvements in Claude with their latest too. Since these are all evolving constantly, I recommend continuing to venture out of one platform and into another from time to time.
Grok3 is terrific at coding. I don’t know what the official context window is but it feels unlimited. I still pay my $20 to anthropic, bc of projects and bc I already have a workflow, but my second $20 (or $30 in this case) I’d definitely put to super grok
thank you for this, very insightful and is in alignment with my own research about some of these, although. I was just called a ChatGPt Lifer, and in the same conversation agreed to try Claude, so this is the nudge I needed. I think it's implied if you want to get real value from these you need the paid version, I guess with exception of grok.
DeepSeek is better on some ways for web searches. Like crypto, or longer better \responses \ detailed answer. The downside is the it is slower \timeouts
Mistral Le chat is a worthy entrant. Their chips are different (Cerebras). $15/mo pro. Student for $6. Text to code allows you to edit vs just re query

I like the simplicity of the table. Should I make a version of it similar to how I made for Ethan's? https://lpcode808.github.io/Comparison
That is very cool!
I agree. Claude is the best with code and editing. However, ChatGPT is not far behind. I have ChatGPT + account, considering Claude paid one as well.
Big fan of this Peter - thank you!! I thought I was giving ChatGPT too much credit so I’m glad to see my opinions validated 😆

Love this! And agree with the evaluation
Is Claude good enough to make human coders obsolete?
Amazing guide. Thankyou for sharing!
Great resource. I like how you select which model is best for each category. Really cool graphic.

I haven't tried the other deep researches, but the Perplexity ones seem good and free tier gets 5 daily
