If quality were an image, it’s the obsession over detail! It’s the stick figure versus flesh and bone down to the tiny beads of sweat on the forehead. Neurotic about it!

Culture of quality needs more of 'show don't tell' way of working. You raise the bar by showing and then making people understand what good quality looks like. Any program where this is not done, the 'quality' just becomes a metric on paper.

Great post that makes you think deeply about how to approach product!

Isn’t it a fool’s choice to compare product quality and product experimentation?

It seems it’s more about the timing of when to apply these different approaches vs choosing between the two.

How do you think through the possible survivorship bias?

Thanks for taking the time to write and share your thoughts. It makes us better!

I once chose product quality over deadline in a job interview. I did not get the role 😂

I'm from a scrappy world, but even then, I like to find ways to make add quality when it doesn't take much time (you can innovate on this dimension as well - quality doesn't always have to take too long).

What are some examples of situations where going for quality is detrimental (please use the example from your team, not hypothetical) 🙏🏽
